The Ag Facility is used as a teaching tool for the CTE Ag Department in P.I.S.D.  This is the only program in P.I.S.D. that serves all 3 High Schools (Pearland, Dawson, and Turner).  It was built in 1999.  Since it was added it has undergone expansion.  Starting with 2 classrooms, an HVAC lab, welding lab, grazing area & pens for lambs/goats, pigs, and cattle.  It now is home to a shop at the back of the property that is used for storage, FFA meetings, and functions such as the P.I.S.D. Livestock Show and Career Expo buyer’s dinner.

The department head is Hunter Morgan.  He is a gr14433032_971136899663622_5466233353329425600_naduate of Pearland High School and an asset to this program.  Thru his–his wife, Rhonda, and his devoted staff and their love for teaching, their students, FFA, and the Pearland Ag program – this department has more than doubled and almost tripled in interest, number of participants in both animal and non-animal projects, and community awareness.

The Ag Facility is home to our very own
Pearland Livestock Show and Career Expo.  This event is scheduled every September.  Check this years date.  Students raise animals over the summer in preparation for this show.   It is free to the public to come out an cheer on the program.  Community sponsors help fund the show and many business owners, families, and generous participants purchase these animals during the live auction.  Find out more and follow the PLSCE progress here.

The facility was a dream of Dick Wagoner.  He was a strong supporter of the district ag programs and Co-Founded the Pearland FFA Booster Club.  He pushed very hard for the construction of the first facility which is now used by the Pearland Athletic Department at Pearland High School.  Mr. Wagoner’s wife and sons are still huge supporters of the program.  I’m sure that he would be very proud of the facility that bears his name and the program that Hunter Morgan is building.
